Steve: I worked for Jimmy part time (cleaning and shipping strings) from 1972 to around 1981. Jimmy told me after John's heart attach, Jim DiSerio went off on his own and Jimmy D'Aquisto he did most of the work (while John took time to go fishing). Jimmy claimed the only thing John did not let him do was to dovetail the neck to the body.

Playing your ballad acoustically on a D’Aquisto is rare to hear and see anyone ever do. Thanks, you and the D’Aq sounded really nice.

Nice episodes on guitars. Several years ago I bought my son A Tacoma acoustic guitar they only made so many of them.The company was only in business for a short time.The guitars was made from special wood.Had a sound of its own it is good as any Gibson Or Martian any how the company got bought out. I think the bigger makers didn’t want that good of compilation. But that’s just my opinion.So if you ever find an original Tacoma guitar check it out.Oh it was made in Tocoma Washington from special wood from that area.But not sure where the wood actually come from I will have to research it again,

You might get a kick out of this. Sometimes I like to mash up songs, like Dyer Makr with the Stir it Up bass line and vice versa.( Zep stole that one too) My newest miscreation is Copperhead Road sung to the tune of The Stable Song by Gregory Alan Isakov.

2:40 rosewood works fine man, why you dissin' on. I prefer my rosewood (Western Classic, and now SJ-300, a slightly fancier mid-00s 200) to my maple (SJ-200) to be honest. Maple has a punch, while rosewood has a cut. The big advantage of maple is you can play a rosewood dreadnought (in my case, a Collings D2H-AV) panned to one side and the maple 200 panned a bit to the other and get a great two-acoustic soundstage going, wider than two rosewoods.

0:30 Sounds like crap to be honest, compared to modern SJ-200's. Does it not have carved braces? Or is it just bad mic'ing?

Love this ty!! I learned how to play on my dad's '52 blonde J200, I remember it had a small neck, it was fantastic (long gone now). He introduced it to me as "this is a J200, the finest guitar ever made!", lol, left quite an impression on me. Just bought a replacement, there is nothing like it! Big fan, ty for this vid❤🎶

Steve, as a self professing Socialist , don't you think it would be intellectually honest of you to liquidate your guitar collection for the good of the community? Socialism is system in which the community/government owns the means of production after all, and despite you making a comfortable living owning your means of production like a Capitalist, I'm sure the government could use the funds stolen from that to fund some of the programs in line with your socialist views ...and you can feel good about living your message. In 1986 I was 27 yrs old. I was an avid stereo geek and music nut. Most of my friends were into R&R but I was broadening the scope of what I liked. I used to loiter in "record stores" for hours just looking through LPs. I was VERY late to the CD craze and was still collecting vinyl LPs. I picked up a cope of Guitar Town. I had no idea who Steve Earle was. Something told me to take that home. Been a HUGE fan ever since. THANK YOU Mr Earle. Thanks for posting this video.
